Bocker the Labradoodle's Exciting and Rewarding Life
Bocker the labradoodle has had an exciting life and has friends and fans all over the world. From the start, Bocker’s eyes were always so expressive; even the first photos I saw of him after he was born at Doodlesville showed something very special going on in those eyes. Bocker always seemed to pose for the camera. After everyone told us that he should be in magazines, we decided to see if an agent thought he was right for modeling. At eighteen months, Bocker’s career got off to a great start.
Bocker has worked as a model for print ads for Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren Polo, Barneys NY, Chase Bank, Target, GQ Magazine, Getty Images, Avanti Greeting Cards, Goody’s Family Clothing, King Size Direct and others. He has been featured in TV and internet commercials for Tommy Hilfiger, Blockr.com, and Optimum Rewards. He was also featured in an article in Thailand’s leading dog magazine, Dogazine, and in the online magazine, PetE!, in which he now has a column..
Bocker worked as an extra in Steven Spielberg’s“War of the Worlds. He appeared on the Mike and Juliet Morning Show’s segment, “If the political candidates were dogs”. He represented Hillary Clinton and actually received a letter from her. Bocker appeared on The View, getting a bath from Joy Behar on the air. He has also appeared on Good Morning America modeling doggie fashions and is also featued in a webisode for Wal-Mart’s “Pet Advice”. He returned to the morning show circuit representing labradoodles in the Obama family search for the perfect White House Dog.
In February he modeled at a Skybark Pre-Westminster Red Carpet fashion show in NYC and stole the show as he strutted down the runway in his Moulin rouge outfit and sunglasses. That night he was also given “The Quality of Life Award” for all the good he does for those in need. Bocker recently filmed an episode of Animal Planet’s Dogs 101, which will air in October. Bocker was also guest for WGY Radio's Pet Talk.
Bocker is a certified with Therapy Dogs International and his latest endeavor is Bocker’s Buddies. Bocker’s Buddies is a national organization that is dedicated to the therapeutic healing of people through the use of doodles as therapy dogs. These "therapy dogs" visit nursing homes, day care centers, and hospitals. They cheer up patients and act as the ultimate counselors. Bocker also works as a Tail Wagging Tutor, where he helps children improve their reading skills and self-esteem. Bocker just seems to bring smiles wherever he goes. His “human” eyes and smiling face make him look like he is ready to talk at any moment. He surely gives back as much love as he receives.
Bocker’s website, Bocker’s Doodleland (http://www.bocker.tv), has had over 103,000 visitors and is known internationally. His website has given him the opportunity to make so many new friends all over the world. Bocker has become the spokesdog and ambassador for all Labradoodles. He has his own theme song, line of merchandise and a Bocker plush toy, which is becoming a huge favorite of children around the country. The plush puppies are also donated to children in hospitals and those who need a smile.
Bocker is also involved with several organizations that benefit both his human and animal friends, such as the American Cancer Society (DogsWalk Against Cancer), Animal Protective Foundation, North Shore Animal League, Animal Haven, and The Autism Connection and has appeared on stage to help raise money for these worthy causes and organizations. Bocker was proud to be Chair of the Around The World For 80 Strays Gala benefiting the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society. His Million Doodle March was a huge success and helped raise thousands of dollars for various rescue organizations throughout the country and helped promote autism awareness. If Bocker could really talk, he’d probably say that he is the luckiest doodle in the world.
