Alligator Art: Young Gators Tap Into Their Inner Picasso!
BARM/Fame
The 1-year-old gators get their feet and bellies covered in colorful non-toxic paint, and then are placed on a white sheet where they are set free to wiggle around the canvas to create their masterpieces, according to U.K.'s Metro online.
Because each baby gator has its own unique set of scales and footprints, the impressions their bodies make through the paintings help illustrate the animal's individual biology— something park officials hope will teach young visitors about the creatures. And how long does it take to whip up a masterpiece? About 15 minutes.
With the Orlando-based animal park and wildlife preserve, known internationally as the "Alligator Capital of the World," celebrating its 60th year, we can't think of a more a colorful way for the gators to join in on the fun!
