Amazing! 10 Rare Lynx Kittens Born in Colorado Wild
Colorado Division of Wildlife
"The discovery of kittens this year is extremely promising," said Tanya Shenk, a Colorado Division of Wildlife lynx field researcher, in a statement. "The locations of the dens show that lynx are beginning to expand their ranges and are once again finding both food and habitat necessary for successful reproduction."
According to the Associated Press, the felines were native to Colorado before being wiped out by logging, trapping, poisoning and development in the 1970s. Since the state's lynx reintroduction program began in 1999, a total of 218 lynx have settled there after being brought in from Alaska and Canada.
We hope these little kitties make themselves at home and stay a while!
