Gosselin Family to Bring Dogs Shoka and Nala Home
INF
"My kids' lives have been changed and compromised and altered enough over the past year," Kate Gosselin tells PEOPLE. "I realized if I had two difficult kids I wouldn't send them away and ask for new kids."
Dad Jon Gosselin returned the young pups to their trainer in September, at the height of his divorce drama with now-ex-wife Kate. At the time, Jon blamed the move on Kate, telling E! Online, "It's not fair to the dogs to not be wanted in their own home."
If that was the case, the reality mom has since changed her tune, telling PEOPLE, "I'd never quit on my kids, so why would I think I was going to quit on my dogs?" She adds that the pups will return to the family's Wernersville, Pa., home "once the weather warms up."
Jon came under fire last year for comments he made about the dogs, telling PEOPLE that the couple's eight kids would "climb on them, pull their tails, bite at them [and] drag them." He later clarified his statement, saying, "Shoka and Nala are loyal companions who we consider members of our family. We would never do anything to hurt them, and treat them with the respect and love that they deserve."

I agree with you 'poodlesrule' Why should the weather have anything to do with "getting the dogs back"? Don't they let the dogs indoors? My Aussie is in the house all the time, with all 4 of us people and 1 cat. Dogs and cats are suppose to be a part of the Family, Right? Some dogs are used for Guard Dogs, that is different. These two Shepherds need ALLOT of work!! More than a family of 8 kids plus Mom.

Sorry 'ilovemydogkay' but it is absolutely NOT about 'making the children happy'. Sure kids like dogs but do young kids walk, feed, pay for the vet etc? NO! How many times have I heard that pathetic story of ignorant people going intoa pet store (which is wrong right there) and then walking out with an unplanned puppy because their young kid "have to have it".....and of course these unplanned pets usually end up in the shelters when the parents realize they are a novelty to the kids and are a huge responsiblity.

People Magazine, shame on you! There are people out there much more worthy of a cover than Kate Gosselin. I'm glad to see that magazine scans are available on the internet. Hopefully people will catch on, and you'll soon be losing subscriptions. Why pay for a magazine when you can read it free on the internet. Your pandering to Kate Gosselin is disgusting.
This is another way Kate is trying to garner votes. She's reaching out for the animal lovers. Her comment about bringing back the dogs when the weather warms up is the first clue. Why wait for the weather to warm up? She's just saying this as damage control. The more she appears publicly, the more damage she does. And now she's got to somehow get enough votes to stay on DWTS.

Give me a break people! I love my dogs ridiculously and could never give them up for any length of time, but in her case she was under a lot of emotional stress and trying to deal with eight children on her own for the first time. These very reputable breeders were not just picked out of the yellow pages. I watched the show and they were close friends. I would assume that they were taking care of the dogs for the family until they were able to care for them again. I'm glad for the kids and the dogs that they are being reunited.

Ok, so the way I see it, these people are now feeling guilty because they were caught in the public's eye in giving up there pets, which in my opinion, if the dogs could be found a decent home, was probably a good idea. Ok, so now since they made mistake number one (or four thousand six hundred and seventy two, PROBABLY) now they want to continue by bringing the dogs back to this rediculous environment????????? Oh great that will make the dogs "stable" so when they grow up and maul someone, it will be the DOGS FAULTS??????????? Oh and just incase I am missing something, what in the dump does the weather have to do with ANYTHING?????????????????? Oh I do not know who to feel more sorry for the dogs or the kids. They are the real victims in this "Family!!" On to better topics!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You either have remorse over dumping the dogs or you don't!The WEATHER isn't going to make it all better! The breeder should be ashamed of giving them back to her. The kids make no difference if they're going to be crated 20 hours a day! I usually don't get involved in that stupid families drama, but the dogs don't deserve to be part of it! GO AWAY

I am really tired of hearing about this family. I think the dogs should go to a home where they will be top dogs! These dogs require ALOTT of work. How could a family of 8 young kids take care of them. I have an Aussie with 2 older children and at times she doesn't get a walk everyday. We love our pets, but when is enough? There are too many dogs in shelters that should be adopted before we go to breeders and buy a pet.

I agree with Poodlesrule...only we have 6 dogs, all rescued that were abondonded and or left to die on the streets, and we have enough to deal with....and keep up with them, etc. They are all house dogs all mixed breeds and appreciative to be with a "forever family"...We have no kids at home, and like Poodles said...it is busy busy here keeping them all exercised and hubby and I cannot go anywhere overnight together cuz we will not leave them alone. They are so worth it ! Shhhhh!!!! Don't tell the doggies (our 4 legged kids that).
