What Sigourney Weaver did for Planet Earth, Oprah will now do for Discovery Channel's new 11-part series about the natural world, Life. The talk-show host, an unabashed dog lover, will narrate the series, which Discovery describes as a show about "the most spectacular, bizarre and fascinating behaviors that living things have devised in order to thrive."

Life, a BBC production, is slated to premiere next March. The series has been in the making for four years, and filmmakers went to every continent and filmed for more than 3,000 days. We can't wait to hear Oprah talk about Zambian fruit bats and star-nosed moles!
