Sad News: Mickey Rourke's Beloved Dog Loki Dies! Leave Your Condolences For Him Here

UPDATE: We are all saddened to hear the news today that Mickey Rourke's beloved dog Loki has passed away. The Chihuahua died on Monday night at the age of 17, confirmed Rourke's publicist, Paula Woods. In a statement to PEOPLE Pets, the actor said: "Loki is deeply missed but with me in spirit. I am very blessed she fell asleep peacefully in my arms."

Rourke, who is often spotted by paparazzi with Loki, brought her to the awards ceremony at the Venice Film Festival in September. ''Loki is the love of my life," he told The New York Times. Rourke recently thanked his dogs during his Best Actor acceptance speech at the Golden Globes.

As pet owners ourselves, we can easily imagine how heartbroken the Oscar-nominee must be. Our hearts go out to him and the other furry members of his family.

Hey Mickey I always thought you were a wise guy even if I also thought you were a pretty good actor. But after seeing how much you love your Dogs you have a fan forever. I'm a tough guy who loves my chiuauas too. I have Rottweilers and Goldens and the little guys are my favorites hands down. My Slugger saved my life much the same way as your little guy did. I was sick and lonely and he was always, always there for me. He's still alive but I'm so worried about how long. I pray he lasts 17 years like yours. God Bless You and your family of dogs. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope you get more work. You were excellent in the wrestling movies. Like I said I think your acting has been great since I first saw you in Angel Heart.
