PHOTO: Yves Saint Laurent's Beloved Dog Catches Some Zzz's at Auction
A Christie's auction of late designer Yves Saint Laurent's last belongings sold nearly $3.3 million on its first day — there were reading lamps and side tables and chandeliers to choose from. Watching over it all? Moujik, the designer and his partner Pierre Berge's bulldog! Staying by Berge's side (not pictured), Moujik laid on the plush red carpet doing what most dogs love to do: sleep!
'Barren' Horse's Surprise Birth — to Rare Twins!
Last year, Yvonne Bartram's vet told her that two breeding mares on her farm in England were barren, unlikely to ever conceive again. Luckily, he was wrong, twice! Six weeks ago, the 13-year-old mare named Sofie gave birth to twins, and the other, a 19-year-old named Elbe, is expecting for the second time since the diagnosis.
When Bartram, 47, was told her mares were barren, she thought she might sell Sofie as a riding horse —the mare had been an international show jumper before she began breeding. But one day, Bartram's farrior pointed out that the horse "looked a bit heavy." A different vet performed a scan and confirmed that the mare was seven months in foal.
Rob Thomas's Tour Bus Must: His Dog!
When Rob Thomas hits the road on tour, his Pomerianian Samy is tops on the packing list. "It's just great," says Thomas of road trips with his pet. And the excitement starts before they depart from their Westchester, N.Y., home.
"When he sees the bus pull up to the house, he freaks out, jumping up and down and when you open the door he runs straight to the bus," says the singer, currently on his Cradlesong tour.
PHOTO: Clyde the Meerkat Works the Pet Shop Register!
Regular customers of the Sign of the Owl Petshop in the U.K are used to the sight of Clyde, a foot-tall domesticated meerkat, poking around the cash register —imagine that! Six-year-old Clyde is the hand-reared pet of shop owner Derek Wakeham and his wife Julie.
The meerkat, with his wiry gray hair and dark button ears, enjoys noshing on fruit, eggs, mealworms and crickets, and he especially loves people. Wakeham told the Western Morning News that "Clyde is very sociable. He loves to play on the counter in the shop and often climbs up on the till — the customers love him." We'd buy what he's selling!

PHOTO: Antarctica's Next Top Models? Penguins!
Looks like these guys are ready for their moment in the spotlight! Photographer David Schultz snapped this sweet shot of three penguins standing around his camera tripod in Antarctica, where he hiked to an Emperor penguin rookery, according the U.K.'s Telegraph.
"I remember one of the birds stayed behind the camera as the others moved to the front," Schultz said. "With their heads stretched out, constantly bobbing, it seriously seemed as if they were posing. And then the one behind the camera changed position so it appeared as if it was looking right through the view finder."
'Hollywood' Bunny Nabs Best in Show at National Rabbit Competition
Who was the best-looking bunny of the bunch at this year's 86th annual American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) Convention and show? The coveted title of Best in Show went to Hollywood, an 8-month-old black broken Mini Rex rabbit from Sanger, Calif. "It was overwhelming," Hollywood's owner, Douglas King, tells PEOPLEPets.com. "To win at ARBA is the pinnacle. It doesn't get any bigger than that."
