The San Diego Zoo's still nameless male giant panda cub looks to be enjoying his weekly exam! Last we checked in, a zoo representative told PEOPLEPets.com that the cub was easy to handle and laying low with his mom, Bai Yun. Next week, the Zoo will announce the cub's name, which thousands of people helped pick in a vote!

Looking for a lost dog has never been this much fun! Mitzi's World, a new children's book, follows a clever little pup named Mitzi as she experiences the four seasons in different American towns. But it's the reader's job to find her on each page, everywhere from New York and San Francisco to tiny neighborhoods and farms. A collection of bright images and poetry, the book is the brainchild of character actress Deborah Raffin (7th Heaven) and her artist friend, Jane Wooster Scott. "I'd always wanted to write a children's book," Raffin tells PEOPLEPets.com. "And I believed Scott's work was just perfect. So I sat down with her and convinced her it made sense for us to collaborate."

That's one big baby! Rhino mama Numbi welcomed an 88-lb. bundle of joy at a zoo in Erfurt, Germany, on Friday. Her fourth baby, the little square-lipped rhinoceros will eventually grow to become one of the world's largest land mammals, weighing upwards of 3,000 lbs. Hope it eats its veggies!

The Buenos Aires Zoo gave Josefa, its 37-year-old female polar bear, a birthday cake only a polar bear could love — an ice block filled with fish! Artfully presented over a box that said "Happy Birthday" in Spanish, the treat was heartily slurped up by the bear.
