We already know that many of you are helping our pals at Freekibble.com every day by playing their fun trivia game and, in turn, donating food to shelter pets in need. But now, you can make an even greater impact through the site by campaigning to President Barack Obama and asking him to declare April 30 National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day.

Simply visit freekibble.com/lettersforpets, and click on the icon to send a pre-written letter to the President. It's as easy as that! And there's a bonus: For the first 50,000 e-mails sent, Ellen DeGeneres's pet food company Halo will donate a meal to Freekibble.com for a hungry shelter cat or dog.

The campaign goal is to send 100,000 letters to the President by Sept. 30, and already, supporters have sent more than 40,000. According to Freekibble.com, the Obama administration is aware of the campaign — maybe Bo had a hand in that? Regardless, it's just further proof that when pet lovers work together, their voices are most definitely heard.
