Here’s something you don’t see everyday: a trucker feeding bananas to his pet duck who rides shotgun in his truck. What’s even more unusual is that this trucker has a penchant for hunting duck. How did this unlikely pair strike up a friendship? It started about a year ago when Joe Mansheim, who delivers construction materials to sites, bought a duck-hunting dog for $700, only to find out that he wouldn’t hunt. As a joke, he decided to order a duck from a local store and when it arrived he fell in love with the ball of fluff who he named Frank. Now the two of them roll around town making lots of people in his truck route smile, Mansheim tells KARE 11 News. “I’m a duck hunter but I don’t consider Frank a duck, I just consider him a friend,” he says.
