You can create profiles for up to five pets on your profile page. If you have more than five pets, simply create a second profile for you and for your other pets. You'll need to use a different email account to create a second profile and you will need to choose a different profile name.

What is a hug? What is a ribbon?

A hug is a gesture of friendship that you can send electronically to another pet. Simply click "Hug" on the profile page of the pet you would like to hug, and a message will appear to his or her owner upon login to say that you've hugged a pet.

A ribbon is a reward the PEOPLE Pets editors give to a pet that has won one of our various photo or caption contests. Only PEOPLE Pets editors can award ribbons, but you can help nominate your favorite photos and captions for ribbon consideration.

How do I upload photos?

To upload a single photo, click "Browse" under the "Upload Photo" option and select the file from your hard drive that you wish to share on the site.
To upload a gallery, click "Create Gallery" under the "Upload Photo" option. Once you identify the source of your photos (your hard drive or a camera memory card), all of the photos from that source will appear on the screen, and you will have the option to select those you wish to include in your gallery. You can upload as many photos as your People Pets memory space allows.
All photos are subject to removal if deemed inappropriate by PEOPLE Pets users and editors, and before uploading, you must agree that you have the rights to the photos you are sharing, and verify that they are appropriate to share.

What types of videos and photos are appropriate?

Videos and photos of pets playing, people interacting with pets and other related forms of content are fine. Videos and photos that are copyrighted, pornographic, disturbing in nature or violent will be removed at the discretion of PEOPLE Pets editors. If you are unsure about posting a photo, think about whether or not it is something you would want a child to see. If not, then do not post it.

How can I publicize information about my favorite pet charity?

Each profile page on PEOPLE Pets includes a journal where you can write about your pets. You can also list your favorite animal charity under the "Details" section of your profile. Feel free to write a journal entry at any time about the work your favorite charity is doing, and share the information with your PEOPLE Pets friends. If you think your favorite cause is extremely worthy, email editors@peoplepets.com to tell us about it. You may not use PEOPLE Pets to ask for money for yourself or another individual or cause. Additionally, please use restraint when sending messages to other members containing promotions for your favorite charities. Many members may prefer not to receive mass-marketing messages.

Is selling products on the site allowed?

Within reason. PEOPLE Pets does not allow companies to sell products that already reach a large consumer audience or that are available in stores nation- or worldwide. However, if you have a product that you make at home that you would like to publicize, feel free to do so on your journal. PEOPLE Pets is not an eBay-like forum, so please do not sell used pet accessories (such as dog houses, cat trees, etc.) All sales will be removed at the discretion of PEOPLE Pets editors.
