She’s looking for love in New York City – but will The Bachelorette have an affair to remember? Take a peek at the men who have made the cut so far in Jen Schefft’s quest for love, and place your bets with the odds that PEOPLE’s reality TV experts give each of the guys vying for her affections.
Who: Jerry, 29, an art gallery director from Los Angeles
What he has going for him: Good looks
Possible deal breaker: He’s too slick
He had her at …: In episode 3, he slow-danced with Jen on a rowboat in the middle of Central Park, and gave her the best kiss of the show so far.
Where he stands: Jen’s clearly smitten with this smooth operator. From the moment he stepped out of the limo in the premiere, Jerry has flirted aggressively. But his reportedly close friendships with Lori Trespicio of The Real World 10 and Lisa Donahue of Big Brother 3 gives credence to Jen’s nagging doubt: Is Jerry only in this to win reality-TV fame?
Who: John Paul, 25, an entrepreneur from Oklahoma City, Okla.
What he has going for him: Stature – the 5’3” Jen can look up to this broad-shouldered suitor
Possible deal breaker: He may be tall, but where’s the depth?
He had her at …: He won a pickup basketball game and scored a one-on-one spa date with Jen at the Mohegan Sun resort.
Where he stands: Jen likes his conservative side – he refrained from kissing her so as not to seem too forward – but she’s cautious about his age. Only 25 to Jen’s 29, John Paul may be jumping the gun when he says he’s ready to settle down and have a family.
Who: Wendell, 32, an entrepreneur from Chicago
What he has going for him: His easygoing nature
Possible deal breaker: He can give off a “just friends” vibe
He had her at …: He stole a quiet moment with Jen during a group date to a Knicks game in episode 2, where he joked with her about traveling to New York just to meet a fellow Chicagoan.
Where he stands: Of all the interactions with the bachelors, those between Jen and Wendell seem the most normal and date-like. However, while she’s comfortable with him, it’s unclear whether she has a real physical attraction to him.
Who: Ryan, 28, a teacher from Manhattan Beach, Calif.
What he has going for him: Kindness
Possible deal breaker: He’s very quiet
He had her at …: “Dear Jen” – his personal letter in episode 4 finally won him a one-on-one date with the Bachelorette, during which he told her that he wanted kids some day. The two ended up making out in a hot tub.
Where he stands: Ryan has been the safe rose – a reliable, nice, unthreatening guy who gives some stability as Jen whittles down the group. But as she spends more time with him, it becomes obvious that Ryan can put a genuine smile on her face.
