Newly engaged couple Dave Annable and Odette Yustman helped the actor’s Brothers & Sisters costar Matthew Rhys celebrate his Welsh heritage with a St. David’s Day cocktail party at L.A.’s Palihouse.
And, yes, Rhys wore a kilt.
“Dave and Odette were glowing,” says a fellow guest of the duo. “They were very affectionate, they seemed very happy.”
One reason for the high spirits? Spirits! Guests at Rhys’s annual bash sipped a fleet of vodka cocktails made especially for the party, including the “The Green, Green Grass of Home,” featuring Belvedere vodka, basil, fresh pineapple and a dash of simple syrup. Other drinks included: “The Shane Williams Fizz” (vodka, lemon juice and an orange twist); “The Flaming Dragon Martini” (vodka, cranberry juice, Grand Marnier and lime); and “The Dylan Thomas” (vodka, fresh kiwi, apple juice, almond and a dash of lemon).
Meanwhile, revelers, like Rachel Griffiths and Emily Van Camp, munched on lamb chops and mozzarella sticks with their martinis. “The place was jam-packed,” says the guest. “It got even crazier after midnight, and went until almost 2 a.m. – when the bar ran out.”
As for the host, Rhys “seemed to have an exceptionally good time at this one,” the guest says. “He had the kilt, he drank Bavaria beer all night; he just had a great time.”
Coincidentally, Parks and Recreation star Rashida Jones was celebrating her 34th birthday at Palihouse with pals Jessica Alba and costar Amy Poehler. By the middle of the night, the two parties basically merged, a source says, with the birthday girl and Alba joining Rhys and his friends for the vodka cocktails.
