After months of speculation and rumor, Bill Condon will take the helm as director of the much-anticipated Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final chapter of the Twilight saga.
Summit Entertainment officially announced the deal Wednesday, ending several months of rumored names, which included heavy hitters Gus Van Sant and Sofia Coppola, MTV reports.
“I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life onscreen,” the Oscar-nominated Condon said in a statement. “As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book – and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience.”
