But with the recent trend of celebrities making it official – Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher! John Krasinski and Emily Blunt! Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green! Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart! – which of the following long-term couples do you think will get married next?
Bret Michaels has been with his girlfriend, Kristi Lynn Gibson, for 16 years – and the couple have two daughters, Raine Elizabeth, 10, and Jorja Bleu, 5, together – but Michaels has said, “We are not engaged yet”. Hmmm … yet?
Although Brad Pitt once said that he and his partner of five years, Angelina Jolie, would “get married when it’s legal for everyone else,” the couple seems to be softening their position. Jolie recently said they would consider marriage if their children asked them to tie the knot. “I think it would be hard to say no to the kids,” she told Good Morning America.
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have shared 27 years together, and their son, Wyatt, just tuned 24 on July 10. But she has said they have no plans to wed. “I wake up every day knowing I can walk out at any moment,” the actress said during a visit to the BBC’s Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. “It’s [that knowledge] that keeps things fresh.”
They’ve been together a dozen years – and welcomed daughter Lily-Rose, 11, and son Jack, 8 – but Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have said they don’t feel the need to walk down the aisle. “I love the romance of ‘let’s get married,’ but then, when you have it so perfect … I mean, I’m more married than anybody can be – we have two kids. Maybe one day, but it’s something I can really do without,” Paradis once told Elle.
