The Voice: The Battle Rounds Begin

With the blind auditions complete and their teams chosen, The Voice coaches are now forced to pit their contestants against each other.

The battle rounds begin on the NBC singing competition Monday as Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton each choose two contestants from their teams to face off in head-to-head “duet battles.” Only one singer will remain in the competition.

Weeks of battle rounds will reduce the remaining 48 contestants to just 24. Here are a handful of the contestants performing on Monday:

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Angie Johnson, 31, was asked to audition for The Voice after host Carson Daly found a YouTube video of Johnson performing for the troops abroad.
