Across the Twitterverse, celebrities expressed their sorrow at the passing of Dick Clark, the television icon who was dubbed “America’s Oldest Teenager” and welcomed generations to a new beginning every New Year’s Eve.
Responses ranged from the mournful to those that joyfully praised Clark’s legacy. But many simply recalled him as a legend.
“Just heard the news [about] Dick Clark,” Tweeted Mario Lopez. “It was truly an honor to have worked with him, learn from him and to be able to call him a friend. He was a great man and an even better friend.”
…was a great man and an even better friend. The word legend is thrown around a lot, but it’s never more appropriate than when used…

Lopez continued. “He was a real inspiration & influence in my life. I will dearly miss my friend… Rest well DC.”
