After sustaining an injury on the set of The Good Wife last month, Kristin Chenoweth is leaving her recurring role on the hit CBS series as she continues to recover.
“It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to The Good Wife at this time,” Chenoweth tells PEOPLE in a statement Monday. “[I’m] getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern.” The actress will, however, appear on the season 4 premiere on Sept. 30 (9 p.m. ET).
She was hospitalized overnight as a result of her injuries, and she has periodically shared health updates via Twitter.
“Today not best “pain” day. Remaining positive. (I think),” she Tweeted on Aug. 8.
On July 24, the Tony-winning Broadway star and Emmy winner for Pushing Daisies spoke out about her recovery.
“To all my fans: thank you for support and love,” she Tweeted. “Doin better everyday. More to come when I’m able! … I love you guys xo.”
