The singers were feeling the pressure – and the judges had some tough decisions to make – as the battle rounds continued Tuesday on The Voice.
“Do what you have to do,” mentor Michael Bublé said to the hopefuls. “You’re fighting for your life.”
In Blake Shelton’s quest to find the ultimate down-home country crooner for his team, he pitted Liz Davis and Nicole Johnson against each other.
After a lively version of his wife Miranda Lambert’s “Baggage Claim,” Davis came out on top, thanks to her musical experience and breath control. Shelton made sure to give worthy competitor Johnson a hug on her way out. (Watch their battle below.)
Mentor Mary J. Blige feared that Alessandra Guercio of Team Adam was “imprisoned by being perfect,” and needed to watch her back against sweet and clear-toned Kayla Nevarez. While Cee Lo praised Guercio’s bold attitude in a battle featuring Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake,” Adam Levine stuck with Nevarez.
