ET has some casting news of its own.

Rob Marciano, a news and weather anchor for CNN, will take his seat alongside Nancy O’Dell as the new co-anchor of Entertainment Tonight starting in January.

A former weatherman in Portland and Lake Charles, La., with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology, Marciano covered Hurricane Katrina and the BP oil spill for CNN, earning a Peabody Award for his field work. He also hosted primetime specials, including Rescue: Saving the Gulf.

Marciano calls the ET job a “dream come true.”
