Love is in the air. Rico Love, that is.
The music world came together Saturday for a private dinner celebrating Rico Love’s 30th birthday at the SLS Hotel South Beach. Diddy, Pharrell Williams, Fat Joe, Russell Simmons and Kelly Rowland feasted and drank Grey Goose into the night as they toasted the music mogul on his big 3-0.
Diddy led the birthday toast, commending his friend for “working his way up from Harlem.” Rico told the crowd, “I’m blessed.”
Partygoers were treated to delicious fare from SLS restaurant Katsuya, including rock shrimp tempura, miso marinated black cod, and blue crab rolls. After dinner, the candles were lit on a three-tier cake provided by Hublot watches, accompanied by a miniature cake, designed as a Hublot watch replica.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z were also at the SLS, enjoying a romantic dinner upstairs in the exclusive room, Sam’s Lounge. Earlier in the evening, the twosome attended an Art Basel exhibit at The Standard Spa Miami Beach and met up with the group later at Nikki Beach.
“Jay-Z and Beyoncé were drinking Cognac and hugging each other and having lots of fun,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE about the couple’s time at Nikki Beach.
The evening began with a Roberto Cavalli Saks Fifth Avenue fashion show and coincided with Art Basel week in Miami, where many of the stars spent the day. Explaining his new interest in art, Rico said, “Usher has been educating me on … the value of investing in professional art, so I’m trying to grow and build my portfolio.”
