The victim of a taxi cab accident in New York City, in which one of her legs was severed, has been identified as Sian Green, a British tourist visiting the U.S. on what had been a dream trip.
A day after the incident, Wednesday, she continued to recover in a New York hospital after undergoing surgery as her family rushed to be by her side. Her condition was listed as critical, WNBC News reported Wednesday morning, along with saying that no charges have been filed against the cabdriver. Both he and the cyclist reportedly passed breathalyzer tests.
Green, 23, was visiting New York with pal Keshia Warren and had been in the city for only a day when the taxi swerved to avoid hitting a cyclist before the vehicle jumped the curb, plowing into Green as she was eating a hot dog in Manhattan’s Rockefeller Center.
A student of fashion-buying at De Montfort University, Green is employed as a buyer trainee at Hugo Boss, reports the London Evening Standard.
