It’s been a long time coming.
A source confirms to PEOPLE that the divorce agreement has been drawn up and, as of recently, was merely awaiting the signatures of the couple, who were married for six years until they announced their split on Nov. 17, 2011. Kutcher filed for divorce Dec. 21, 2012.
The New York Post reports that the couple could file the final legal documents as early as next week.
At issue was how to divide their estimated fortune of more than $300 million. A business source close to Kutcher told PEOPLE earlier this year that Moore was seeking at least $25 million in a lump sum payment from Kutcher, believing much of the money he put into technology startups like Skype wouldn’t have been possible without Moore.
“Demi introduced him to powerful friends that took Ashton under their wings,” a source close to Moore said. “He would not have been able to make so much money if he had not met them.
In 2010, Kutcher and partner Guy Oseary, a Moore pal, launched A-Grade Investments with billionaire Ron Burkle, which is valued at $100 million.
