This week, parody perfection reached its peak and the word Kanye-oke was born thanks to the James Franco and Seth Rogen “Bound 3 (Vague)” video, a not-so-vague shot-for-shot redo of Kanye West’s new music video featuring his topless fiancée Kim Kardashian.

In the now infamous parody, Franco’s flapping shirt is flawless – and we can’t even find the right words for Seth Rogen’s back-arching skills – but one thing made this video pure magic and that’s the bromance.

Freaks and Geeks fans know that Franco and Rogen go way back; this faux-sexy spoof is just another chapter in their epic love. But other male BFFs have set their intimacy to music before this ridiculous pair. Let’s take a stroll down bromance music video lane, shall we?

1. David Bowie and Mick Jagger: Freaky-Deaky Footloose BFFs

Who needs lip-syncing when you and your bud are musical geniuses? Bowie and Jagger broke out their best drunk uncle dance moves and eskimo kisses for their rendition of “Dancing in the Street.” The 3-minute-long ode to friendship and rump-shaking is a treasure trove of video man love.

2. Ben Affleck and Jimmy Kimmel: The Bromance Back Stab

After hearing the harsh and humorous news – via viral video – that his then-girlfriend Sarah Silverman was “having relations” with Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel poached Ben Affleck from the classic Good Will Hunting bromance as revenge. Hence a new, manly relationship was forged in the fires of comedy with “I’m F–––––– Ben Affleck.”

3. Wham!: Wake Me Up, I Love You So So

Theories abound regarding the meaning behind “Wake Me Up, Before You Go Go.” It’s simple. George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley can’t bear the thought of starting the day without one another. How are you supposed to match your outfits alone?

4. Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg: Triangle of Love

After Saturday Night Live sketches Motherlover and D––– in a Box, Timberlake and Samberg turned their seductive gazes inward with “3-Way.” We knew the two couldn’t resist each other’s neatly trimmed facial hair and fly sportswear forever, especially with Lady Gaga there for support.

5. Bert and Ernie: Up All Night To Be Buddies

Bert and Ernie are puppet proof that best friendships are often formed in close quarters. Even though Bert pretends to begrudgingly accept the whole arrangement, without Ernie who else would help him fight the stress that comes with a killer unibrow and constant need to break into song?

6. Jason Sudeikis and Will Forte: The Big BFF Kiss

The sound of stringed instruments can do funny things to the heart. In the case of Jason Sudeikis and Will Forte, the unabashed banjo strumming of Mumford and Sons’s “Hopeless Wanderer” leads this pair into a passionate, beard-framed lip lock.

7. Turk and JD of Scrubs: Guy Love

Real-life BFFs and bromance aficionados Zach Braff and Donald Faison used Scrubs to provide a musical guide for dudes with deep feelings. “Guy Love” may seem complicated but in the end, it comes down to one simple truth: it’s just “love between two guys”.
