Mickey Dwyer needed to sell a couch on Craigslist. And he needed an angle. So he decided that his couch, “just a very real and relatable couch,” was “the Lena Dunham of couches.”

Then Dunham decided to help him sell it.

Dwyer posted a fairly humorous Craigslist ad for his couch, laden with inside references to Dunham’s show Girls (“This is just … like a couch I don’t know why everything needs a label like we’re fruit or something and you just have to pick them off or sometimes you swallow them and don’t even notice”).

Apparently he wasn’t getting enough bites, so he took to Twitter to ask Dunham herself for some help.

Lo and behold, Dunham retweeted him, and #couch was born.

Dwyer has yet to update the world as to whether the #couch has been sold. We hope so.
