Justin Bieber was arrested Thursday morning in Miami, putting him on a long list of child stars who have taken wrong turns.
Miami Beach Police brought in the 19-year-old for DUI and drag racing after Bieber failed a sobriety test. This incident follows Bieber’s other recent legal troubles. Earlier in January, the singer’s house was raided by Los Angeles police looking for evidence linking him to a vandalism case.
Like Bieber, other celebrities have made headlines for the wrong reasons. Here are some of those former child stars and where they are today.
Made famous at age 10 by Nickelodeon’s All That, 27-year-old Bynes rapidly returned to the public’s attention in 2013 for a series of bizarre incidents that included sharing racy photos on social media, ranting on Twitter and throwing a bong out of a window. The star was eventually sent to inpatient treatment, which she has completed.
After 2004’s Mean Girls, stardom seemed certain for Lohan. Instead, the actress has collected six mug shots and served jail time for a variety of drug and driving charges over the past seven years, starting in 2007 for a DUI. The 27-year-old has become known for her flaky movie set behavior, but continues to work, giving fans hope for a full career comeback.
Garrett released his hit single “I Was Made For Dancin’ ” at age 16. Three days before the actor-singer’s 18th birthday, Garrett had his first of numerous legal troubles. Garrett crashed his car while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The accident left the car’s other passenger paraplegic. Garrett, 52, has since been arrested on drug charges an additional three times.
