Jimmy Fallon is bringing The Tonight Show back to the Big Apple, and it looks like the lifelong New Yorker is enjoying staying rooted in the city.
Fallon, 39, enjoyed steak and wine at midtown restaurant Bill’s Food & Drink on Tuesday night. The comedian, known for his musical parodies on Saturday Night Live, even joined the eatery’s piano player at the bench, singing along throughout the night. Fallon’s biggest hit? The Beatles’ “Hey Jude.”
“The whole bar joined in,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “He was in such a good mood that he bought two rounds of drinks for everyone at the bar.”
The Late Night with Jimmy Fallon host also got generous with friend Seth Meyers, who will take his slot as Fallon transitions to The Tonight Show. During their interview on Late Night Tuesday, Fallon gifted Meyers a pickle that has become a torch-passing tradition on the show.
