Monday’s episode of The Voice was filled with smooth, soulful, rocking and soaring duets that made it harder than ever for the coaches to narrow down their teams.
Cierra Mickens and T.J. Wilkins showed that they could make an amazing soul duo post-Voice with their duet on Oleta Adams’ “Get There” for Team Usher.
“It was perfect, I wouldn’t change a thing,” raved Shakira, who bowed in praise.
In the end, Usher picked Los Angeles native Wilkins. “T.J. is such a special singer,” Shelton said. “It would be hard for anybody to beat him.”
Although theirs was a unique pairing of pure country and powerful pop, Jake Worthington and Tess Boyer dazzled in harmony for Team Blake on John Hiatt’s “Have a Little Faith in Me.”
