Need a refresher on the adolescent adventures of Topanga and Cory from Boy Meets World before the show’s upcoming spinoff, Girl Meets World, premieres? Samuel L. Jackson is your man.

The Pulp Fiction actor appeared on The Tonight Show Tuesday, and oh-so-coolly performed a slam poetry piece on Boy Meets World. Dressed in beatnik black and drawing on an e-cigarette, Jackson rhythmically begins, “The year 1993. We see two boys who lack both brain and brawn, Cory Matthews and Hunter. Hunter, comma Shawn.”

Three minutes and a few Matthew McConaughey chest thumps later, and Jackson has covered the show’s entire history from the first Topanga kiss to Feeny’s bittersweet farewell.
