Music filled Sunday’s season finale of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which included some high notes – and some low ones.
Kandi Burruss’s musical, A Mother’s Love, based on her life, loves and ongoing battles with her own mother, opened to a sold-out audience that not only such celebrities as Tyler Perry, but also Momma Joyce herself.
“Some of the things I couldn’t say to my mother, I say in music,” Burruss said. “As my mom is watching the show, I hope it makes her say ‘We can make this happy ending in real life.’ ”
Burruss didn’t exactly get her wish, although she did get some closure.
“I loved the play,” her mother said.
But as far as her new son-in-law Todd Tucker, who married Burruss earlier in April, was concerned, Momma Joyce would only say, “We’ll agree to disagree.”
Kenya Mourns Velvet
Kenya Moore mourned the loss of her beloved little dog, Velvet, with a memorial service.
“I think we picked each other she was sent to me at my lowest time,” said Moore, weeping. “I know she’s in a better place, and I just thank God she was in my life.”
Porsha Stewart, who starred in Burruss’s musical, finalized her bitter divorce from husband, Kordell, by walking away from her marriage without receiving any alimony.
Meanwhile, Phaedra Parks finished mortuary school to become a funeral director and mortician. Already eyeing her own business, she says she might name it “Fabulous Funerals by Phaedra.”
