DEMANDED: Former Miami Vice and Nash Bridges star Don Johnson, 54, has been ordered to pay an Aspen grocery store nearly $6,000 for an unpaid bill, AP reports. Pitkin County District Judge Erin Fernandez-Ely said Johnson must pay $5,470 for his past-due balance at Clark’s Market, along with $426.85 in interest and court costs of $101. Johnson did not file a response to Clark’s lawsuit. In May, the actor’s 17-acre Colorado ranch was put on sale amid a bankruptcy filing.
GATHERED: Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, along with 11-year-old daughter Bobbi, attended the premiere of Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement at Disneyland in Southern California Saturday night. Houston, 41, is one of the romantic comedy’s producers. Also at the premiere were the film’s stars, Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews, as well as Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
CAST: The fourth season of FOX’s 24, which will feature an all-new cast except for lead Kiefer Sutherland, has added actress Kim Raver to play opposite the Jack Bauer character (Sutherland) as his love interest, the network has announced. She will play Audrey Raines, an aide to the secretary of defense. Raver previously appeared for five years on NBC’s Third Watch.
PLANNED: Bill Cosby, 67, said that he plans to meet with community leaders and police in Massachusetts later this month to help organize a rally against street violence, reports the Associated Press. Cosby, who has a home in rural Shelburne, about 50 miles northwest of Springfield, made his remarks following a ceremony Thursday at the Basketball Hall of Fame honoring 14 young women who overcame obstacles to graduate from high school and attend college. “I think he has a lot to offer,” Springfield Police Chief Paula Meara, said. She plans to invite Cosby to join an anti-crime alliance.
BUSTED: Country singer Mindy McCready, 28, has been charged with prescription drug fraud after Tennessee authorities said she used a fake prescription to obtain the pain medicine OxyContin. McCready (“Guys Do It All the Time”) was arrested Thursday at her home in Nashville by agents with the 21st Judicial Drug Task Force, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department. She was booked into the county jail and held on $10,000 bond. She posted bail and was released the same day.
BOUGHT: Despite losing millions after being fired as the spokeswoman for Slim-Fast because she made jokes about President Bush at a Democratic fundraiser, Whoopi Goldberg, 48, managed to slap down $950,000 for a 745-acre getaway near Brattleboro, Vt., reports the Wall Street Journal. A Colonial style clapboard house sits on the property, which also includes a barn, wooded trails, mountain views and no shortage of water: there’s a pond, a stream and a river. The spread formerly belonged to a college biology professor and her farmer husband.
