It’s no secret that Jennifer Aniston is devoted to the carb-limiting Zone Diet, but what about her perennially buff husband, Brad Pitt? Evidently he still lets himself indulge in pasta. Our spies spotted him at West Hollywood Italian eatery Il Sole recently, and after he greeted pals Courteney Cox and David Arquette (there without baby Coco), he returned to his dining companion (a business associate) and his plate of spaghetti with clams. Sharon Osbourne also enjoyed dinner there the same night.
He didn’t win any Teen Choice Awards, but Napoleon Dynamite – a.k.a. actor Jon Heder – was the guy to meet backstage at Universal Amphitheater during the show’s taping. Award winner Ashlee Simpson ran out of her dressing room barefoot to catch up with Heder, shouting, “You’re the one person I wanted to meet!” Our spy overheard Paris Hilton and Jimmy Fallon telling Heder how much they loved him, and Tony Hawk and his kids insisted on taking a photo with him.
I Do, Again
Jersey Girl writer-director Kevin Smith got a big birthday surprise while in Las Vegas to tape a “Roadside Attractions” segment for the Tonight Show: His usually low-key wife, Jen, gathered about 20 of his closest friends at the Little White Chapel to share in a surprise vow-renewal ceremony. “The good Catholic in me is ashamed to confess that there was no wearing of the white,” Smith tells us. He happened to wear one of his custom basketball shooters, with his wife’s maiden name (Schwalbach) across the back and embroidered with his nickname, “Jen’s Bitch.” During the ceremony, the couple’s 5-year-old daughter, Harley, stood between them – much as she did during their first wedding, since Jen was 8 months pregnant at the time. And afterward, actor Jason Mewes (who plays Jay to Smith’s character Silent Bob) “almost broke his neck trying to get out of the way of catching the bouquet,” Smith says. Pal Ben Affleck couldn’t make the party, but he did take the time to send treats: Champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries for the bride, brownies and skim milk for the groom.
Caught in the Act
That ’70s Show’s Danny Masterson, sitting alone outside the Arclight theater in Hollywood, awaiting an afternoon movie. “He was smoking a cigarette outside by himself,” says a spy. “It was kind of funny because it was a total super-fan moment when this girl came up and sat next to him and told him how great an actor he is and how she wants tickets to a taping.” No word on whether she landed the tickets.
Before hitting a photo shoot and a friend’s wedding, Eliza Dushku (Tru Calling) started her day early on Saturday by stopping for a manicure and pedicure by Fred Segal Beauty while sipping vodka with Perrier at Diesel’s “girls only” day. Gabrielle Union and Fergie from Black Eyed Peas also stopped by for some pampering.
