At his Oct. 12 nuptials, comedian Jeff Dunham debuted a trimmer figure in his Armani tux – thanks to bride Audrey Murdick. A fitness model, nutritionist and trainer, Murdick put the ventriloquist on a strict diet and workout regiment that helped him shed 25 lbs. in three months.
Murdick chose an Eve of Milady gown and Vera Wang shoes for the nondenominational Christian ceremony, held at Sunstone Vineyards and Winery in Santa Ynez, Calif. “The wedding was about fun, friends, family,” says Dunham, “and food!”
Dunham and Murdick shared a passionate first kiss as husband and wife in front of their 112 guests, who included best man Kelly Asbury, the writer and director of Gnomeo and Juliet, and designer Andy Smith, who built the Batmobiles for the Michael Keaton Batman films and Christoper Nolan’s trilogy (Dunham owns the Batmobile from Batman Returns).
Traditional on one side and creative on the other, the pair’s wedding cake was crafted by Decadence Fine Cakes and Confections of Buellton, Calif., and featured vanilla sponge, lemon mousse and raspberry preserves.
Not content with just one decadent dessert, Dunham and Murdick commissioned Rosebud Cakes of Beverly Hills to create a groom’s cake that replicated the Keaton Batmobile and Batcave, and was accessorized with edible versions of themselves dressed as Batman and Catwoman. Guests also dined on the couple’s favorite foods – chicken-fried Angus steak with cream gravy for him, roasted sweet potatoes with rosemary and pecans for her – at the reception, which was catered by New West Special Occasion Catering of Buellton, Calif.
“We can’t imagine a love any better than this,” the newlyweds, who will honeymoon in Vermont and Napa Valley before enjoying a scenic drive home to L.A., told PEOPLE. “No matter what the day, we go to sleep laughing, and we wake up laughing.”
