Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi Diagnosed with Lymphoma

It was just two months ago that Black Sabbath announced plans to produce another studio album – their first in 33 years.

But in the midst of recording sessions in Los Angeles, the heavy metal foursome had some serious news for fans this week: Guitar legend Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with lymphoma.

Ozzy Ready to Reunite with Black Sabbath

While the bloom may be off his once-rosy MTV series, Ozzy Osbourne does have something to crow about: He’s getting back together with his pioneering British heavy metal band, Black Sabbath.

The group plans to reunite for the first time since 2001 for Ozzfest, which begins July 10 in Hartford, Conn., a spokeswoman for the annual road show announced Tuesday.

Actually, Reuters reports, not all of the original Black Sabbath will be playing. Sure, Ozzy, 55, the cofounder and headliner of Ozzfest, will be there, as will guitarist Tony Iommi and bass player Geezer Butler.

Ozzy's Group Makes Cut, Despite Ozzy

Ozzy Osbourne could end up in Cleveland, even though he doesn’t want to.

So could the Clash, Elvis Costello and the Attractions, and The Police – given that they are among the first-time nominees on the 2003 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ballot, reports the Associated Press. (The Rock Hall is located in the Ohio city.)

Inductees will likely be named in December, followed by a spring ceremony in New York.
