Liam Gallagher and Nicole Appleton Are Officially Divorced

Former Oasis lead singer Liam Gallagher and his wife Nicole Appleton are divorced.

It took a London court just 68 seconds to issue a “decree nisi” for Gallagher, 41, and Appleton, 39, The Guardian reported.

In her petition for divorce, Appleton accused her husband, now frontman of the band Beady Eye, of adultery in July 2013, an accusation that he did not contest, the paper said.

In a statement posted on the band’s Web site just hours after the band failed to appear at the Rock en Seine in St. Cloud, Gallagher, apologizing “to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan,” announced: “It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight … I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher was wanted for questioning by police after they saw a photo of him in a newspaper as he was allegedly trespassing along a railroad line while walking from his hotel to a recording studio in Cornwall. (It may not be the same as exposing oneself on national TV, but obviously these things are taken seriously over there.)

Oasis is reported to be recording their upcoming album at the Sawmills Studios, near Golant, Cornwall, according to published reports.

Guitarist-singer-songwriter Noel Gallagher, bass guitarist Andy Bell and keyboard player Jay Darlington of the British rock band Oasis are recovering after being hurt Tuesday afternoon in a head-on car collision in downtown Indianapolis, say reports. The band’s Web site says that Gallagher, 35, who was sitting in the front of a taxicab, suffered heavy facial bruises and seat-belt cuts, while Darlington, age unreported, injured a hand and was to return to the hospital for further treatment on Wednesday.
