Aron Ralston, Whose Story Inspired 127 Hours, Arrested for Domestic Violence

Aron Ralston, who gained widespread attention when he cut off his forearm to free himself after becoming trapped by a dislodged boulder in a Utah canyon, has been arrested in Denver over allegations of domestic violence after a fight with his girlfriend, police say.

Ralston and Vita Shannon, both 38, were each booked Sunday on charges of assault and “wrongs to minors.”

Police documents allege Shannon struck Ralston twice in the back of the head with her fists and that he shoved her as she was leaving her apartment.

Dido 'Too Curious' to Wait to Find Out Sex of Baby

She’s due with her first child this summer, but Dido isn’t waiting for a delivery room surprise.

“I’m too curious,” the singer-songwriter, 39, told the Associated Press of finding out the sex of her baby. “It’s enough of a surprise on the day.”

Although Dido and husband Rohan are focusing much of their attention on their upcoming new addition, 2011 is shaping up to be a big year in other ways as well – her song ‘If I Rise’ from the film 127 Hours was nominated for an Academy Award, and a new album is almost completed.

James Franco Gets 'Queasy' Around Blood

Although reports have surfaced of people fainting as they watch James Franco amputate his arm playing Aron Ralston in 127 Hours, the actor says he himself has had no problem.

“I admit that I get a little queasy, especially when it comes to blood around my arms,” Franco told PEOPLE at the Palm Springs International Film Festival opening night gala. “When I go to the doctor for a checkup and they draw blood, I admit, I’m not good at that at all.”
