Lindsay Lohan wasn’t at the Los Angeles premiere of her racy film The Canyons on Tuesday night, but cast members had plenty to say about the star and her recovery.

“She’s decided not to be here because she’s worried coming out of rehab [and] hanging out in L.A. for the weekend,” the film’s director Paul Schrader told the audience in a speech before the movie was shown.

Three months after entering rehab as part of a plea agreement in a criminal case, Lindsay Lohan left a Malibu treatment center Tuesday.

Or at least her character, Tara, is in this sultry, moody trailer for The Canyons, the upcoming erotic thriller in which Lohan, 27, stars with the porn actor James Deen.

“When’s the last time you went to see a movie in the theater?” Tara says of movies at the trailer’s outset. “I don’t know. You know, I guess maybe it’s just not my thing anymore.”
