Living in a home associated with a famous movie may not always be a blessing. That’s the lesson being learned by an Astoria, Oregon, resident who happens to live in a home prominently featured in the 1985 film The Goonies.
Many children of the ’80s love The Goonies, but the most hardcore of Goonies superfans will be celebrating the film’s 30th anniversary with a four-day-long, nostalgia-packed weekend in Astoria, Oregon, where the film was shot.
It began with him being arrested on the streets of Santa Monica for public intoxication in the early hours of New Year’s Day, and a month later was followed by the breakdown of his eight-year marriage to Diane Lane.
Corey Feldman, who starred in the 1985 Warner Bros. box-office hit as Mouth, says that the original cast and crew, including executive producer and story writer Steven Spielberg, want to reunite on the big screen for part two.
As the ’80s cult favorite The Goonies marks its quarter-century milestone, adoration for its misfit gang of treasure-hunting teens – including the not-yet-famous Josh Brolin and Sean Astin – is still alive and well.
