Tom Kenny, the Voice of SpongeBob, Watches Breaking Bad

Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob Squarepants, is all about cartoons all the time – almost.

“Cartoons are almost 100 percent of my TV viewing,” Kenny told PEOPLE at The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water premiere in New York City on Saturday. While that doesn’t surprise us, this did: “My 17-year-old and I just started watching Breaking Bad, but we’re like five years behind everyone else.”

Antonio Banderas: Peter Pan May Be the Reason I Became an Actor

Although Antonio Banderas plays a pirate in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, it isn’t a swashbuckling sea captain like Captain Hook who inspired him. He’s a fan of Hook’s nemesis, Peter Pan.

But You Say He's Just a Sponge: See Biz Markie Guest-Star on SpongeBob SquarePants

He’s been a rapper. He’s been a beatbox instructor. Now, Biz Markie will be a cat.

Well, an animated cat – the “Just a Friend” rapper will guest star on SpongeBob SquarePants as Kenny the Cat, SpongeBob’s personal hero.

Victoria Beckham to Square Off with SpongeBob

Victoria Beckham is going deep for her next TV role.

The former Spice Girl and current fashionista, who’s already appeared on ABC’s Ugly Betty, is lending her voice to a character on Nickelodeon’s hit cartoon SpongeBob Square Pants, a rep for the show confirms to PEOPLE.

Beckham, 34, will play Queen Amphitrite, goddess of the sea, in a half-hour episode called “Neptune’s Party,” scheduled to air in summer 2010.

He’s played crooked cops and criminals. But on Oct. 13, Ray Liotta will lend his voice to a new villain and face a new foe: SpongeBob SquarePants.

On the half-hour Nickelodeon special, Spongebob SquarePants Who Bob, What Pants, the Goodfellas star, 53, will voice the leader of the “dangerous Bubble Poppin Boys gang. According to the network, SpongeBob “wanders the ocean, a stranger in his own pants, and finds himself in a rough part of New Kelp City, where he faces off against the Boys’ gangleader, Liotta’s character.

SpongeBob Asexual, Not Gay: Creator

Tossing water on the controversy as to whether he’s straight or gay, SpongeBob SquarePants is … neither, insists his creator.

Addressing issues raised last week after at least two conservative Christian activist groups said the hugely popular TV cartoon character and his best friend, Patrick Starfish, are being exploited to promote a homosexual lifestyle, SpongeBob SquarePants creator Stephen Hillenburg, 43, scoffed. He said the allegations are far-fetched, and that his agenda does not go beyond entertainment.

'Gay Warning' Issued Over SpongeBob Video

Two Christian Conservative groups have issued a gay alert warning over a children’s video starring SpongeBob SquarePants, Barney and a host of other cartoon favorites who star in a music video due to be sent to 61,000 U.S. schools in March.

The makers – the nonprofit We Are Family Foundation – say the video is designed to encourage tolerance and diversity. But those critical of the video say the cartoon characters are being used to promote the acceptance of homosexuality, Reuters reports.
