Fans of the late Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein will be in for a special treat May 7 when Iron Man 2 hits theaters.

Just two months before his death by accidental drug overdose, DJ AM filmed a cameo for the highly-anticipated sequel, reports the Los Angeles Times. And, distraught by his death, director Jon Favreau grappled with whether or not to include the bittersweet scene.

Lawsuit: Plane Crash Trauma Led to DJ AM's Overdose

DJ AM’s mother is picking up where her son left off in his legal fight against Learjet.

Andrea Gross has amended his $20 million lawsuit against the plane manufacturer, the pilots’ estates and others by adding a wrongful death claim, Los Angeles court papers show.

“The crash ultimately caused Adam Goldstein’s death at a later date,” the papers state.

A vast collection of more than 800 pairs of sneakers that belonged to the late Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein will be auctioned on eBay from Nov. 15 to Dec. 14, with all the proceeds going to the DJ AM Memorial Fund. The fund aids groups committed to addressing issues of addiction and recovery.

Among the stand-outs in DJ AM’s vault of limited-edition sneakers: a pair of Eminem Air Jordan 4s – one of only 50 pairs ever made.

Even in death, DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, will be fighting hard to save others from the perils of drug dependence.

The celebrated deejay, who died of an accidental drug overdose in August at age 36, shot an MTV series called Gone Too Far just before his death.

Medical Examiner Rules DJ AM Death an Accidental Overdose

The New York City Medical Examiner’s office has officially ruled Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein’s death an accidental drug overdose and revealed that he had a number of drugs in his system at the time of his death.

“We’ve done the testing and investigation in conjunction with the NYPD and in our opinion this was an accidental overdose rather than suicide,” Medical Examiner spokeswoman Ellen Borakove told PEOPLE Tuesday.
