Isaac Mizrahi Launches New Fragrance – with a Poodle's Help

The color pink, a slice of cake, lacy lingerie, poodles.

“Certain things just make me smile,” Isaac Mizrahi told PEOPLE at the launch of Fabulous, his first fragrance for women. The designer brought that sense of joy to the perfume’s ad campaign. “I see a poodle, it just makes me smile.”

For the campaign, two black standard poodles joined a model (in pink!) outside New York City’s Guggenheim Museum. In one scene, a show-trimmed pooch appears to be asking for a spritz of the scent, which features mandarin, nectarine, jasmine and cedar.

He tied the knot just seven weeks ago, but Isaac Mizrahi is already singing the praises of married life.

“It’s amazing,” the designer, 50, told PEOPLE during Thursday’s Project Runway All Stars panel at New York’s Paley Center. “I recommend it a lot.”

Isaac Mizrahi has been given a golden ticket to continue his questionable red-carpet behavior at the Academy Awards, despite criticism of his antics for E! on the night of the Golden Globes – in which he quizzed Eva Longoria on her pubic hair, groped Scarlett Johansson’s breast and peered down Teri Hatcher’s dress.

“I’ve hired Isaac because I felt the red carpet work on television, not just on E!, had become predictable, staid and frankly boring. What I wanted is someone who would bring surprise,” the network’s president and CEO, Ted Harbert, tells the Associated Press.

Mizrahi Kicks Up His Heels

Bandana-wearing fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi, whose eccentricities were tracked in the 1995 documentary “Exposed” (his couture business collapsed a few years later), has a new career: off-Broadway celebrity. The Drama Dept., a New York-based theatrical troupe, announced yesterday that Mizrahi will make his theatrical debut next month in a one-man musical show he wrote himself. Its title: “LES MIZrahi.”
