Kimberly Williams-Paisley Will Open Up About Her Mother's Dementia in New Book

Kimberly Williams-Paisley is set to open up about a very personal issue.

In her upcoming book, Where the Light Gets In, to be published by Crown in 2016, the actress, 43, will share a glimpse of what life has been like since her mother, Linda, was diagnosed with a rare form of dementia called primary progressive aphasia at age 62.

Brad Paisley will make a special guest appearance as himself on the season finale of the ABC drama – and PEOPLE has the first photos from the set.

The Grammy winner, 40, will perform with Connie Britton and Charles Esten’s characters, Rayna and Deacon, at the CMA Awards during the episode, which airs May 22.

The country couple shopped separately, but Paisley would continually check on his wife and make sure she was doing well. Country star Brad Paisley, 36, and According to Jim actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, 37, have welcomed a son, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

According to a statement, “Mother and baby are resting comfortably.”

Born in Nashville Friday morning, he’s the second child for the couple, who are also parents to 2-year-old son William Huckleberry Paisley, who’s named for Mark Twain’s famed character, Huck Finn.
