Meet the Expenda-Belles: Our Dream Team of Female Action Heroes

The Expendables 3 hits theaters this month, giving moviegoers a third round of A-Team-meets-AARP action and giving a host of ’80s and ’90s stars a reason to flex their muscles onscreen once again.

The cast list reads like a fanboy’s dream: Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford and Arnold Schwarzenegger – and Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke appeared in the previous installments.

But where are the women?

Cameron Marriage Hits Iceberg

The marriage of Linda Hamilton and James Cameron appears to have sunk. The actress cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce petition filed in Los Angeles Monday. She is seeking custody of their 5-year-old daughter, Josephine, although she is willing to allow visits with the Oscar-winning director of “Titanic.” The Superior Court filing also seeks spousal and child support, and requests their assets be divided. The couple married June 24, 1997, and split shortly after this past March’s Academy Awards ceremony.

'KING OF THE WORLD' NOT: WIFE

Being married to James Cameron was a titanically miserable experience. So says actress Linda Hamilton, who filed for divorce from the director of “Titanic” and “The Terminator” after nearly eight years of marriage. “I wanted to be the one to do the final destructive act. It’s an important thing for me personally not to feel like the victim,” Hamilton told USA Today.

HAMILTON, VAYA CON DIOS

Actress Linda Hamilton retains a lingering resentment about her now-defunct marriage to ‘Titanic’ director James Cameron. “There’s no contact between us at all, and I’m extremely well and happy with my life,” she says in the current TV Guide. “I am not destroyed. Actually, I was delivered by God when he left.” As for success in acting, Hamilton, who starred in the TV series “Beauty and the Beast” and the “Terminator” films, says it comes at a heavy cost. “Never create a legend,” she advises. “Either you have to live up to it, or you have to live it down.”
