Lynda Carter: Adrianne Palicki 'Looks Fabulous' as Wonder Woman

Adrianne Palicki knew she had big boots – and a super-sexy, skin-tight suit – to fill when she signed on for NBC’s upcoming re-launch of Wonder Woman, an iconic role originated by Lynda Carter in the ’70s.

But there’s no rivalry. In fact, Carter has nothing but wonderful things to say about the new TV incarnation.

Already a superstar, Beyoncé now has her eyes set on becoming a superhero.

“What would be better than Wonder Woman?” she tells the Los Angeles Times. “It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?”

The singer-actress, 27, has met with representatives at DC Comics and Warner Bros. to discuss donning the red, white and blue bathing suit on screen, she says.

To children of the ’70s, she was a glamorous TV icon with her bullet-proof bracelets and Star-Spangled corset.

But now Wonder Woman Lynda Carter has turned the “Lasso of Truth” on herself, admitting publicly that she’s an alcoholic.

“I was so good at hiding it too,” the 56-year-old mother-of-two tells TV’s The Insider. “Brilliant.”

She didn’t need magic lasso and she wasn’t wearing her star-spangled costume, but Lynda Carter was still a hero on Wednesday afternoon.

The actress, best known for playing Wonder Woman in the 1970s TV show, was canoeing on the Potomac River when she spotted a woman floating in the water. She flagged down nearby boaters who called 911. After the woman was pulled out of the river, paramedics unsuccessfully performed CPR.
