Looks like a match made in athletic heaven for tennis star Maria Sharapova and her now-fiancé, L.A. Lakers shooting guard Sasha Vujacic.

The three-time Grand Slam champ’s rep confirmed the engagement to CNBC.

“Maria Sharapova’s agent Max Eisenbud has confirmed to me that she is engaged to the Lakers’ Sasha Vujacic,” sports reporter Darren Rovell Tweeted.

Sharapova, Federer Win at U.S. Open

The U.S. Open wrapped up Sunday evening when Roger Federer won the tennis tournament for the third straight year, this time beating American Andy Roddick. On Saturday, Maria Sharapova won her first U.S. Open, besting Justine Henin-Hardenne.

Federer, ranked No. 1 in the world, won 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1, to land his ninth Grand Slam title.

Federer is the first player ever to win three consecutive Wimbledon titles and three consecutive U.S. Open titles.

After a few weeks off, No. 4-ranked Maria Sharapova, who turns 19 on April 19, says she’ll be ready to jump back into the tournament circuit after losing to her Russian rival Svetlana Kuznetsova in Miami at the NASDAQ-100 last month. That gives the tennis star, who’s been living in Bradenton, Fla., time to relax at her new Los Angeles home, a house she bought on Manhattan Beach. PEOPLE recently caught up with the Wimbledon champ and got the scoop on her new pad, the incident in Miami and her extra inch.

HIRED: Samaire Armstrong, who has appeared on The O.C. and Entourage, is teaming up with Lindsay Lohan for an untitled movie comedy being developed by How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days director Donald Petrie, according to the Hollywood Reporter. She will play the best friend of Lohan’s character, who is described as the luckiest lady alive until she meets the unluckiest man. Armstrong recently played Anna Stern on The O.C., the blond former flame of Seth Cohen (Adam Brody).

As if it weren’t already hot enough in Miami this time of year … Collateral star Jamie Foxx dropped by the regular “secret society” party at nightspot Bed, a hip-hop club where VIPs are invited to lounge on – you guessed it – beds. While Florida Marlins pitcher Josh Beckett relaxed on a bed with a bevy of women, Foxx grabbed a microphone and sang along to hip-hop tunes like J-Kwon’s “Tipsy.” Rapper Timbaland joined Foxx, who worked the crowd well into the night, finally winding down and going back to his Bed bed at around 3 a.m.
