The Cooke County clerk’s office in Texas told PEOPLE that Travis, 55, and Davis were married by Pastor Tommy Nelson from Denton, Texas.

The legend – who suffered a debilitating stroke nearly two years ago – has been filled with wonderful surprises of late.

Nearly two years after suffering a debilitating stroke, country music legend Randy Travis made a surprise appearance at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, quietly standing as he acknowledged the thunderous applause from the audience.

In a rare public appearance since his stroke last year, Randy Travis was all smiles as he attended Dolly Parton’s concert in Thackerville, Oklahoma, on Saturday.

During the show, Parton gave Travis, 55, a special shout-out.

“There are some people you just love and admire for their talents. Tonight, one of those people are here,” she said. “Randy Travis, wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying the show.”

Travis later joined country singer Janie Fricke and Parton, 68, backstage.

A little over three weeks since being hospitalized in Texas, Randy Travis has been discharged and relocated to a physical therapy facility.

Randy Travis Suffers Stroke, in Critical Condition

Hours after Randy Travis’s doctors released video statements saying he was improving, his rep announced Wednesday night that the singer is undergoing surgery after suffering a stroke.

“As a complication of his congestive heart failure, Mr. Randy Travis has suffered a stroke and is currently undergoing surgery to relieve pressure on his brain,” the statement read.

Thursday morning it was announced that surgery had been completed but he remains in critical condition.

Randy Travis Showing 'Signs of Improvement': Doctors

Heart patient Randy Travis is on the mend.

“His condition has stabilized and he has shown signs of improvement,” Dr. Michael Mack, one of the singer’s physicians, said in a videotaped statement released Wednesday.

The country singer, 53, has been hospitalized since Sunday, having been admitted to the Baylor Medical Center in McKinney, Tex., with “presumptive cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure,” according to his other physician, Dr. William Gray.
