Aziz Ansari may have missed Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s opening volley against Cosby since he was too busy taking Twitter-aim at another prominent figure: Rupert Murdoch.

Rupert Murdoch Scandal Addressed in Parliament

Police were forced to remove a man who accosted Rupert Murdoch with a plate of shaving cream during the media baron’s appearance before a House of Select Committee of British Parliament on Tuesday. Murdoch is facing questions about potential criminal activity at his News Corp.’s U.K. newspaper holdings, including a phone hacking scandal at News of the World.

Murdochs: Divorce Accord

News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch and his wife Anna have reached a divorce settlement that preserves his control over his global media empire, the couple said. Details of the settlement were not disclosed, but in a joint statement the couple described it as amicable. Proceedings were completed Tuesday. Mrs. Murdoch, 54, filed for divorce last July in Los Angeles, raising questions about whether Murdoch’s control of News Corp. might be threatened under California’s joint property laws. Murdoch, 68, has a net worth that last year was estimated by Forbes magazine to be $5.6 billion.

Murdoch: Cancer

Media baron Rupert Murdoch, 69, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will receive several weeks of radiation treatment. The cancer was discovered during a routine medical check-up. His prospects for recovery are said to be very good.

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch, 69, said he is all finished with his nine weeks of radiation treatment for prostate cancer – and that he has no plans of stepping down from his seat as head of his worldwide News Corp Ltd. (The company controls such entities as 20th Century Fox, the Times of London newspaper and the New York Post.) Speaking to reporters in Sydney, Australia, this morning, Murdoch said, “My treatments are over.” He also added that the bout of ill health “convinced me of my own immortality.”

A New Murdoch Due

Media magnate Rupert Murdoch, 70, and his wife, Wendy Deng, 31, are expecting their first child together. It will be her first and his fifth. (Deng, who married Murdoch in 1999, is his third wife.) “We can confirm that Mrs. Murdoch is pregnant,” a spokesman for Murdoch’s News Corp. told the Associated Press. “She and Mr. Murdoch are delighted at the news.” Deng was a junior News Corp. executive in Hong Kong before becoming Mrs. Murdoch.
