The four-year marriage of “Lost in Translation” director Sofia Coppola and “Being John Malkovich” and “Adaptation” director Spike Jonze is over, gossip columnist Liz Smith reports.
The news confirms much of the talk of the past few months – that not all was well with the couple. Back in September, Jonze, 33, was absent from the New York City premiere of his wife’s critically acclaimed “Translation,” PEOPLE reported.
“There are some problems,” a friend of Coppola’s told the magazine at the time. (Coppola’s rep, however, denied the news.)
