Fan Gives Ty Pennington Roadside Assistance

Ty Pennington got a little roadside assistance from a young Extreme Makeover: Home Edition fan after running out of gas on I-75 outside of Newport, Mich.

The reality TV star waved down a passing motorist on Sept. 13 who, luckily, recognized Pennington and pulled over.

“He was flagging us down,” Diane Grassley told the Monroe News. “I usually don’t stop for strangers.”

Good thing her daughter Colleen, 16, was in the passenger seat.

Ty Pennington Gets 3 Years Probation for DUI

Ty Pennington was sentenced to 36 months probation, fined $1,500 and ordered to attend a 90-day alcohol education program after pleading no contest to driving under the influence of alcohol, Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan announced Friday.

“I’m happy to bring closure to my recent court proceedings,” the host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition said in a statement.

Ty Pennington Faces Misdemeanor DUI Charges

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition host Ty Pennington was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor drunken driving.

Pennington’s blood-alcohol level was .14 percent – well above the state’s legal limit of .08 percent, says Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan.

Pennington was arrested May 5 in the Marina Del Rey section of Los Angeles and released on $5,000 bond. He apologized to viewers and his coworkers on the show, calling the arrest a “wake-up call.”

Ty Pennington Arrested for Alleged Drunken Driving

Ty Pennington, the host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, was arrested over the weekend in Los Angeles for allegedly driving drunk, police say.

Pennington, 42, was arrested at 12:35 a.m. Saturday by West Los Angeles traffic officers. He was booked at the county jail on a misdemeanor and released at 2:50 a.m. on $5,000 bail. A court date was set for June 4.

Former Trading Spaces carpenter-hunk Ty Pennington, who now emotes on ABC’s successful Extreme Makeover: Home Edition as well as in commercials for Sears, can add another new notch to his tool belt.

The soul-patched sex symbol, 40, is introducing his new “Ty Pennington Style” lines of colorful and retro-styled bedding, bath and table-top accessories that he’s designed, to be sold as of this coming Sunday at Sears stores nationwide. Additional lines will be available on the retail giant’s Web site.

Appendectomy Doesn't Stop Makeover's Ty

Ty Pennington, the energetic team leader with the soul patch from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, is recovering from an appendectomy he underwent Saturday in his hometown of Atlanta, where he was taping an episode of the hit ABC show.

He is expected to be released Tuesday, but said in a statement that the episode being filmed – about a home with serious plumbing problems in Lake City, Ga. – will continue as planned, despite his surgery.
