Continuing the Diamond Jubilee world tour to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 60th year on the throne, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will embark upon a tour of the Asia Pacific for eight days, beginning Tuesday.
“The destinations were chosen by the Queen for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, which underlines the importance that Her Majesty attaches to these significant nations in Southeast Asia, and their relationship to the United Kingdom, and to two of Her Majesty’s realms in the South Pacific,” St. James Palace officials said in a statement.
First, though, the couple enjoyed some downtime on a short holiday, the Palace said. According to French reports, the pair were vacationing in Provence, France, at the luxurious Chateau d’Autet resort.
