Prince George is about to be welcomed to the jungle.
“I’ll have toy elephants and rhinos around the room,” the new dad says on the one-hour special, Prince William’s Passion: New Father, New Hope, airing Sept. 15. “We’ll cover it in, you know, lots of bushes and things like that. [We’ll] make him grow up as if he’s in the bush.”
With the decorating plans moving full speed ahead, Kate has been doing things on her own.
As she awaited the birth of Prince George, she concentrated on getting things ready for the family’s new home, apartment #1a at Kensington Palace – leaning on the advice of Anne Allen, of the London company Impey and Allen, says a source, adding that Allen is also a friend who is doing what she can to help.
Allen was seen shopping with the then-pregnant Kate when they browsed several antique stores, as well as Bernard Thorp in London’s Chelsea, where they apparently found fabrics.
“[Kate] was very clear on the ambience she wanted to create,” Greg Kinsella, creative director of Bernard Thorp, told PEOPLE, noting, too, that she had a “wide canvas of interest.”
